Ed Gomez, MD received his bachelor of science degree in biomedical engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans and attended the University of Miami School of Engineering for his master of science degree in engineering. Subsequently, Dr. Gomez attended the University of Miami School of Medicine, where he was a member of the honorary medical society Alpha Omega Alpha.

His surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency were done at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he later completed a fellowship in sports medicine and served as attending physician at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital.

Dr. Gomez has co-authored several articles dealing with such orthopaedic problems as elbow osteochondritis, shoulder fractures, and sports epidemiology.

Dr. Gomez has received specialized training in minimally invasive total joint replacement of the hip and knee and offers the procedure to his patients routinely.

Board-certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Gomez is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

A Miami native and the father of one daughter, he enjoys numerous outdoor activities, including bicycling, running, weight lifting, and fishing
